The Criminal Division represents the citizens of the State of Ohio and Butler County in prosecuting criminal cases in Butler County's three Area Courts and six Common Pleas Courts. The Butler County Prosecutor is responsible for over 50,000 criminal and traffic cases filed each year in these Courts.

This division renders legal advice and assistance to Butler County's seventeen different law enforcement agencies and is staffed by thirteen assistant prosecuting attorneys, three investigators, and their support staff.
