Juvenile Division

The Juvenile Division of the Butler County Prosecutor's Office represents the State of Ohio in all proceedings where a child is alleged to be delinquent, unruly or a juvenile traffic offender within all areas of Butler County, Ohio. This division of the Prosecutor's Office also represents the State of Ohio in Adult misdemeanor cases where there is a child victim, such as child endangering, domestic violence, and contributing to the delinquency/unruliness of a minor. As representatives of the State, the division strives to achieve the goal of juvenile rehabilitation by balancing the best interests of victims, the community as a whole and the juvenile personally.

The Juvenile Division also represents the Butler County Children Services Board in civil cases where children are alleged to be abused, neglected or dependent. Our goal in handling these cases is, first and foremost, to strive to protect the welfare of our county's children while also assisting the Children Services Board as they provide the services and assistance necessary to keep Butler County's families together.

Finally, the Juvenile Division of the Prosecutor's Office also employs advocates whose main responsibility is helping the division ease the tensions of victims and witnesses in juvenile proceedings. Our advocates stay in contact with victims and witnesses in order to ensure the Juvenile Court has all the relevant information necessary to properly handle a case.
